Optimism of Cambodia’s Rice Industry

Cambodia Rice Federation (CRF) has expressed his optimism for future rice industry in Cambodia, according to local media report.

CRF secretary general Mr. Muol Sarith expressed the positive assessment when receiving a senior researcher at SBK Research and Development Institution Mr. Ung Malar recently at his office.

Loans with low interests from funding institutions like the Asian Development Bank (ADB), both in terms of irrigation system improvement and rice processing by private companies, has contributed significantly to the rice industry.

As quoted in the report, Mr. Ung Malar indicated that with positive result of recent assistance, ADB is considering to invest another US$3 million as loans for domestic rice milling firms.
